Electroformed Nickel Molds of Moltex
Investigation of extreme grain quality expression led Moltex to
build special molds for soft skin processes.
In conjunction with emotional quality updates enabled soft skin
processes as a breakthrough from traditional injected plastic
parts.
Electroformed nickel mold is built by atomby-atom deposition
of nickel cations on an original subject, verifying extreme quality
replication which is not comparable with top down texturing such
as chemical etching or other engraving method. -
Theory
Electroforming and electroplating are synonyms for the method
of nickel deposition.
But electroformed nickel mold must have enough thickness
to render strength to be used as a mold.
Thickness can be controlled to be 3~5mm.

Slush Molds
Moltex slush molds has been widely used for many projects.
Whatever type of slush process machine, Moltex mold fits perfectly
by customizing functional features. Depending on heating and
cooling system in process, such as batch type, hot air heating, water
cooling, and air cooling, special treatment on our molds enable
our customers to be happy.
Accessary fixtures are also supplied upon request. -
Vacuum Forming Molds
Due to the feature of extremely accurate quality of grains,
nickel shells are often used in In-Mold Graining by vacuum
forming process.
It is getting more and more popular because of its relatively
high quality, simple process, environmentally friendly process
and low investment on production system.
Nickel shells for IMG supplied by Moltex are specially
manufactured with numerous tiny pores to allow
vacuuming throughout mold cavity.
Moltex controls size, shape, number, density, and location of
holes perfectly, by in-situ processing.
